Meet one of the few remaining fairground sign-painters in the UK. He is also the talented fellow behind all the colourful & exuberant artworks in our Unfairground. Based in an old Chocolate Factory in East London, Rupert is exceptionally passionate about his craft & his ability to paint perfect lines without mistakes is truly mesmerizing. He still paints everything by hand, using gold leaf & flamboyant enamels with fluorescent highlights. His ultimate piece de resistance is our Curious Creatures Carousel – each Galloper alone features more than fifty individual portraits. His company name is inspired by one of his ultimate heroes Mr Tourette; a French sign-writer who produces offensive signs bearing no relation to his customers' instructions. Thankfully for us, no comparisons can be made between the two sign-writers.
