Roger La Borde’s Papier Couture Lasercut Cards are designed by Rob Ryan.
Move over Edward Scissor-hands ... artist Rob Ryan is truly a cut above the rest. The grand maestro of paper lace may have spawned a trend for all things laser-cut, but his quirkily poetic use of words & exquisite picture-making defy imitation.
Each card comes with a brightly coloured envelope.
The card is left blank inside for your own message.
It is 17cm x 12cm.
Roger La Borde
Born on 31 July 1930 in Paris, the son of a clock-maker.
No one knows why Roger La Borde became a Mime Artist.
Whilst some speculate that he may have simply lost his voice, others conclude that he’s never been interested in idle tittle-tattle, especially not with ‘Flatties’ (non-circus people) so he chooses to practice the Art of Silence instead.
Whatever his motivations, during his poignant & polished act he accomplishes in less than ten minutes what most novelists struggle to do in their whole lifetime.
He lives inside a house of Cards, meticulously stacked on the perimeters of The Lonely Forest.
Like his father before him, he also collects Cuckoo Clocks.
