The Lion
This Silk Screen-Print is designed & printed by Mashka.
These prints are inspired by the artist’s fascination with anthropomorphism. It has ancient roots as a literary device in storytelling & also in art. Most cultures have traditional fables with anthropomorphized animals, which can stand & talk like humans.
Intrigued by these hybrid forms, Kerry has created contemporary characters in the style of Victorian engravings that date back to the golden age of the British Circus.
So, roll up, roll up for Mashka’s Marvellous Menagerie!
It is a 5 colour silk screen-print on 310gsm South Bank paper.
It is from an edition of 250, numbered & signed by the artist Kerry Eggleton.
It is 59.4cm x 25cm.
This print will be dispatched via Royal Mail’s First Class Recorded Delivery Service. The unframed print will be rolled into s standard shipping tube or flat-packed inside a cardboard sleeve.
Please note the price does not include a mount, even in instances where the print is photographed displayed in one anywhere on this website.

Mashka's Marvellous Menagerie
Mashka is just one of our Animagi here at the Circus – a wizard that can morph himself into an animal. The type of animal is usually determined by the wizard’s own personality traits.
It is a learned, rather than hereditary skill but it also has the potential to backfire & go horribly wrong.
Most Animagi can only take on one specific animal but Mashka can take on any form that he chooses, a wolf, a fox or even a Zebra.
Part man, part animal, he anthropomorphizes daily into a different character & prowls the Circus grounds.
His favourite guise is as The Lion Man who is always impeccably dressed.
At night this Lion King steals the show, as the star attraction of the Mutant Barnyard.
