This extraordinary, pink Tote Bag is made by Khama & designed by Malarky. It is no ordinary tote bag for it has an exceptionally large heart. In order to create this collection Khama collaborated with fashion, fair trade & London street artists. The company also collaborates with micro-enterprise projects in small villages in Malawi. They use locally sourced & recycled materials to make these limited edition bags. Through this project they hope to challenge our perceptions of fair trade products & provide the women who make them sustainable employment. All the women are shareholders in the business & benefit from training & development projects. The original artwork for this bag is designed by Malarky. He is a street painter, illustrator & skateboarder, originally from South London. Nowadays half of the time he can be found putting colour on the streets of grey London, the other half you can find him drinking a beer, painting a truck & basking in the glorious Barcelona sunshine. The bag is screen-printed by hand in Malawi, using contrasting colours. It has a black back, black handles & the handle drop is 23cm. It is 48cm x 40cm x 15cm.
