Niki Pilkington

Despite only being 6 years old, Nikki still remembers the last piece of advice her grandmother gave to her. “If you want to fly you must give up the things that weigh you down.” She was right, of course. Nikki is our Butterfly Girl; a sideshow attraction that originally debuted in Rhyl’s Pleasure Island in the 1950’s. Fortunately for us, Nikki is one of the most talented female aerialists on this planet. Crowds gather below & gasp at her shadow as it does summersaults. Is that a human head or a butterfly thorax? Does she have two antenna & six legs? (Well two human arms & four butterfly legs?) Her fragile neon wings are like giant stain glass windows & her translucent skin is so delicate that it cannot be touched. But everywhere that Nikki goes she leaves behind a trail of gold shimmering, fairy dust.
